Zusammenfassung: | In order to meet new demands for reduction in energy consumption for the appliance and building applications, there is an urgent need for the develop ment of rigid closed celled polyurethane foams with improved insulation properties. Furthermore, in view of the fact that chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) have been iden tified as important potential contributors to the processes which cause a depletion of the ozone layer, there is, at the same time, a strong need to find viable alternatives to the use of CFCs, e.g., Freon™* -11 as blowing agents. |
