Zusammenfassung:This panel will address the role of fatigue in air traffic control (ATC) operations and strategies for developing evidence-based fatigue risk mitigation strategies. Following an introduction to the history of ATC fatigue research, panelists will describe a two-part study with current air traffic controllers involving a web-based survey (available to all U.S. controllers) and validated objective measures of fatigue and alertness. Approaches to modeling and requirements for a Fatigue Risk Management System will be discussed.
