Zusammenfassung: | This issue takes up the notion of dialogue and self in multiple ways, particularly with reference to the contemporary conception of the dialogical self. In their diffusion and strength, the conceptual work in these papers, which represent a second generation of self scholarship, demonstrates that the interplay of “self” and “dialogue” is proving to be fruitful in its utility and striking in its originality. At stake is just what is meant by dialogue and dialogicality as well as its converse, that dimension of the self that is unspeakable and unvoiced. This introduction raises a number of key questions and presents the overall framework for the special issue. |
