Zusammenfassung:Modulation of signal transduction at the surface of inflammatory cells appears to influence acute inflammation. Adenosine, a well-known chemical messenger, inhibits the production of superoxide by stimulated neutrophils. In experimental allergic uveitis induced by sensitization with retinal’s’ antigen, treatment with adenosine produced a marked reduction in the expected inflammation.
