Zusammenfassung: | Lenticular vessels were detected clinically and shown to be patent to fluorescein. They appeared to be located vessels just beneath the anterior capsule of the lens. Following cataract extraction, light microscopic examination revealed their origin from vessels protruding between the pigmented epithelial cells on the posterior surface of the iris. Electron microscopic examination strongly suggests the presence of vessels within the anterior cortex of the lens. Origin and significance of these intralenticular vessels are discussed. |
