Zusammenfassung:Ventricular assist devices have emerged as the standard of care in treating end-stage heart failure. Their success in bridging patients to transplantation is well documented. The data supporting their ability to bridge patients to recovery is sparser. However, as technology continues to advance, these devices will offer a high quality of life both in and out of the hospital setting, making them options for a broader spectrum of heart failure patients.
