Zusammenfassung:In this work, we have examined the physical and electrochemical properties of electrolytes for non-aqueous electrochemical double layer capacitors (EDLCs) that are designed to fulfill select functional needs, namely in the areas of alternative salts and water scavenging additives. The results demonstrate that select alternative salts do show promise to increase conductivity in test capacitors while continuing to maintain other key critical performance goals. Preliminary results also have identified several select water scavenging additives that have been shown to preserve crucial performance characteristics in our test cells.
