Zusammenfassung: | The perception that new alternatives are required for energy conversion systems has led our group to be innovative on processes regarding energy storage and transportation. The purpose of this project was to investigate the viability of an energy storage system based on a carbon dioxide electroreduction process. In this system, CO2 is converted to potential energy sources (hydrocarbon products) that can be easily stored. The aerospace applications and the potential for technology transfer for terrestrial applications in the frame of the Kyoto agreement are discussed. The experimental results obtained for the carbon dioxide electroreduction are presented, namely the analysis of the reaction products by gas chromatography. |
