Dielectrostriction and Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking of Alloy 600 in PWR Primary Water

Analysis of six sources of stress in oxides formed along grain boundaries of Alloy 600 in high temperature, pressurized water indicates that dielectrostriction is likely to represent a significant source of tensile stress and can significantly contribute to IGSCC.
