Zusammenfassung: | This work is motivated by the urgent need to enhance the reliability of file systems in battery-powered mobile computing systems and consumer electronics that utilize flash storage devices for data storage. In this paper, we use non-volatile RAM (NVRAM) in the cache design because of its non-volatility and random byte addressability properties. Specifically, we propose a migration-based caching strategy that exploits NVRAM to enhance the reliability of file systems and to improve the access performance by utilizing the localities of accesses and the characteristics of flash storage devices. Our experimental results demonstrate that the proposed strategy can significantly improve the performance and reliability of file systems in flash storage devices. |
