Review of "Application of GPSS V to Discrete Systems Simulation, by Geoffrey Gordon", Prentice-Hall, 1975

This volume is supposed to be compact enough for a single semester course and can be used without a GPSS manual. In its slightly less than 400 pages, the author packs in a substantial amount of information. After an introduction to the general principles of simulation, the author has provided detailed chapters to illustrate various major components of the GPSS language, such as storages and facilities, priority, creating and moving transaction in the system, preempting methods, statistical units, etc.
