Thermoluminescence of Irradiated Polyethylene
Thermoluminescence glow curves of irradiated polyethylene have been obtained under several conditions to provide information to clarify the luminescent mechanism. Zusammenfassung: | Thermoluminescence glow curves of irradiated polyethylene have been obtained under several conditions to provide information to clarify the luminescent mechanism. A glow curve for polyethylene shows peaks at -175° -120° and -40°C. The -40°C peak is unstable and varies between -30°C to -50°C,depending on factors such as dose and type of polyethylene. A great decrease in the luminescent intensity following exposure to ultra-violet, infrared, or day light has been observed. The intensity of the glow curves decreases even though the samples are kept in the dark after irradiation at -196°C. |
