Zusammenfassung: | To elucidate the secondary electron emission from tungsten surfaces of various work functions, as experimentally prepared by scandium deposition onto a W(100) surface, a Monte Carlo simulation of energy distribution of secondary electrons,
N
S
(
E
), emitted from tungsten surfaces with various work functions has been performed for comparison with the measured distribution from a Sc/W(100) surface. The Monte Carlo simulation described the shift of the onset of
N
S
(
E
) with considerable success and, furthermore, successfully predicted the appearance of a hump at around 20 eV in
N
S
(
E
), which has long been a question awaiting explaination. |
