Zusammenfassung: | Nonlinear propagations of magnetostatic surface wave (MSSW)
envelope solitons are investigated quantitatively.
Both the dispersion and nonlinear coefficients are usually positive
for MSSW delay lines. Hence dark envelope solitons can propagate
and bright envelope solitons are forbidden.
In order to verify the possibility of MSSW bright solitons,
the uniformly layered structure with a metallic plate and the periodic
metallic array structure are considered.
Dispersion relations of MSSWs in a periodic metallic array structure
are obtained rigorously using the nonreciprocal Riemann-Hilbert technique.
In both structures, the obtained dispersion curves have highly dispersive regions
suitable for the formation of solitons of long duration,
which are convenient values for use in the experiments.
The nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) with third-order dispersion
and dissipation is used to describe MSSW envelope solitons.
The nonlinearity coefficient of the NLSE is determined by considering
the field distribution.
The numerical results of the NLSE show soliton-like behaviors
in which the waveforms are distorted due to the third-order dispersion. |
