Zusammenfassung:Bioeffects caused by high power ultrasound in medicine must be understood. A significant cause of bioeffects is cavitation. This paper reports on the relationship between cavitation threshold and the amount of dissolved air for ultrasound in the MHz range used mainly in medicine. The cavitation threshold varies according to the amount of dissolved air in water and the frequency of ultrasound.
