Zusammenfassung:A soluble polymer with a limited π-conjugation length, containing thiophene hexamers in the main chain, was prepared by reductive condensation. The obtained polymer was soluble in common organic solvents and cast to films. The films doped with FeCl 3 showed considerable conductivities, 0.4–0.2 S/cm. The absorption spectra of the FeCl 3 -doped films indicated the predominant presence of one-electron oxidized species (polarons) and the instability of plural-electron oxidized species on the polymer chain in the atmosphere.
