Conoscopic Study of the Temporal Behavior of Electrically Driven Homogeneous L.C. Film
With the same “montage method” used in a previous paper, the temporal behavior of the isogyre of a conoscopic figure of homogeneously aligned nematic liquid crystal film is studied. Zusammenfassung: | With the same “montage method” used in a previous paper, the temporal behavior of the isogyre of a conoscopic figure of homogeneously aligned nematic liquid crystal film is studied. The isogyre appears as a straight black band soon after turning on the external field, then with
ca.
4 ms time delay, it grows into a black cross. Its center is located at the final equilibrium position from the first instance of its appearance and does not shift with time. This tendency is the same as is the case of the twisted film reported in the previous paper. When the external field is turned off, the process is reversed. |
