New Type Hollow Cathode Discharge Tube with Continuously Variable Voltage

New type hollow cathode discharge tube in which the operating voltage can be adjusted continuously without interchanging the electrode configulation and gas pressure is developed. Intensity ratio of the HeII to HeI lines emitting from this tube is increased with increasing the operating voltage. Moreover, in this type of discharge, the operating voltage is capable of increasing with axial magnetic fields.
