Zusammenfassung:. The high-spin states in 194 Tl were studied using the 181 Ta( 18 O, 5n) reaction and the AFRODITE -ray spectrometer at iThemba LABS. The level scheme of 194 Tl was considerably extended with several new bands. Three negative-parity 4-quasiparticle bands were observed and associated with configurations. Two of these form a candidate chiral pair with excellent near-degeneracy. In addition two new positive-parity bands were found.
