Zusammenfassung:The pyrolysis of hydrocinnamic acid was investigated by the toluene-carrier technique over the temperature range 910-985 °K. The overall decomposition was first-order with respect to hydrocinnamic acid, and could be represented by reactions [1] and [2], respectively, Both reactions [1] and [2] were found to be homogeneous first-order processes, and the rate constants may be represented by the following expressions The activation energy of reaction [1] is identified tentatively with D(C 6 H 5 CH 2 CH 2 COOH).
