SYNTHESIS OF C 14 CARBOXYL-LABELED PHENYLALANINE
C 14 carboxyl-labeled phenylalanine has been synthesized by a modified Strecker reaction. A yield of 27.6% based on sodium carbonate (C 14 ) has been obtained and the distribution of the remainder of the activity in the by-products determined.
