Zusammenfassung: | Objective: Todetermine the reproductive outcome of the patients treated for gynaecological malignancies.
Patiens &Methods: A retrospective analysis of followup records of various Gynaecological Cancers presented at the Dept of Gynaecological Oncology, KMIO, B’lore revealed seventeen patients attained normal term Pregnancy after the high dose multidrug treatment of Chemotherapy between June 1993 & September 2003.
Results: The age ranged between 18-30 years (mean age 21.7 years). 12/56 Highrisk GTThad normal term pregnancy after high dose EMA-CO therapy (mean 6 courses). Two of the malignant Germ cell Tumours treated with PEB regimex4 cycles, one with Low Malignant Potential ovarian Tumour9 treated conservatively), one with Primary ovarian Choriocarcinoma, & one with multiple primary (EOC + GTT) attained normal term pregnancy after the tratment of high dose chemotherapy. All these patients were treated free of disease at the time of analysis. Median followup was 57 months. All patients resumed normal mensturation & reproductive function. All the seventeen patiens delivered a single child and none of them had congenital malformations. All these sixteen children were healthy except one died immediately after delivery.
Conclusion: The present study confirms that the patients treated with high dose of multidrug chemotherapy had resumed the normal reproductive & menstural function & postchemotherapy does not affect the pregnancy nor the children. |
