Zusammenfassung:In Norway, detailed zoning plans specify intentions of municipal masterplan in detail and make it effective. This paper aims to analyze merits and clarify the actual status of implementation of detailed zoning plans in hiking trail project in Stavanger. Through analyzing hiking trail developments in urban scale and vicinity scale, following facts can be identified. 1) Reflecting 2-step process of land use planning system, master plan and detail zoning plans, the trail project has urban scale overall goal and vicinity scale developments. Overall goal is achieved in vicinity scale developments with fine tune. 2) Pedestrian paths in developments by detailed zoning plans complement the overall goal of the trail project; 94% of the pedestrian paths are part of regional scale trail network system or connected to the network. 3) In vicinity, trail network is accomplished by developments and adjustments of pedestrian spaces with different types of functions and ownerships.
