Zusammenfassung: | In this paper, a new index named building coverage ratios around a building is proposed for recognizing the density of buildings. In the literature, the density has been considered for each region such as district or city block. However, even in a city block the density can vary depending on locations. The proposed index enables us to know how extent the density in a block varies. The index is calculated using the fundamental geospatial data which is freely provided by the geospatial information authority Japan. In case of Taishido 3 chome, the index shows that the building density in a block can vary more than 20 % when it is considered within 40m around each building. This means that we should note the existence of the difference of building densities even if we look at a city block. |
