The basic duumvirate model in the power-society system

This paper proposes a simple duumvirate model in the power-society system. The notion of a defect of power, a measure of the efficiency of the hierarchy, is introduced. It is shown that there exists a range of parameters of a power hierarchy in which the defect of power reaches a minimum. Within this range of parameters a political race of duumvirs can take place, but it will not lead to political instability.
