Zusammenfassung:A model for an indefinite boundary soil—structure interaction problem is presented. The structure is described by finite elements; the soil, by a partial hyperbolic equation; the contact between the soil and the structure, by a matrix integral equation. The structure and soil damping is examined. A theorem for obtaining a structural finite element damping description is stated and proved.
