Theory of critical conditions for mechanochemical explosion

A theory of mechanochemical explosion is developed on the basis of modern ideas about kinetics and macrokinetics of mechanochemical reactions in solids. Analytical expressions for the critical conditions of the explosion in the static mode, as well as under external mechanical influences are obtained. An unusually strong dependence of the impact sensitivity of solid energetic materials (EMs) on the individual crystal size is explained. The theory predictions are compared to the available experimental results.
