Zusammenfassung:Physicochemical properties of new isostructural homo- and heteronuclear coordination polymers of terbium and europium with 1,4-bis-(4-methoxycarbonyl-3-hydroxyphenoxycarbonyl)butane (H 2 L) differing in the composition have been studied. The Tb 2 L 3 ·H 2 O compound has exhibited efficient sensibilized green luminescence, whereas the corresponding europium-containing polymer EuL 3 ·H 2 O has shown practically no luminescence due to mismatch of energies of the ligand triplet level and the Eu 3+ ion emitting level. Heteronuclear terbium-europium polymers (Tb 1.5 Eu 0.5 L 3 ·H 2 O, TbEuL 3 ·H 2 O, and Tb 0.5 Eu 1.5 L 3 ·H 2 O) show luminescence via the intramolecular transfer of the exiting energy from Tb 3+ emitting level to Eu 3+ .
