Determination of the Longitudinal Relaxation Time of a Flowing Liquid Using a Differential Nuclear Magnetic Spectrometer

The necessity to measure the longitudinal and transverse relaxation times T 1 and T 2 simultaneously for the purpose of controlling the state of a flowing liquid was substantiated if flow rate q can vary by two orders of magnitude. A novel method of determining T 1 was developed. A differential-type...

Zusammenfassung:The necessity to measure the longitudinal and transverse relaxation times T 1 and T 2 simultaneously for the purpose of controlling the state of a flowing liquid was substantiated if flow rate q can vary by two orders of magnitude. A novel method of determining T 1 was developed. A differential-type nuclear magnetic spectrometer was designed to employ this method, which allows measuring T 1 in the whole range of flow rate  q . Experimental results are also reported.
