Zusammenfassung:The beam splitting algorithm permitting one to obtain a solution of the problem of light scattering by atmospheric ice crystals in the geometrical optics approximation is compared with ray tracing algorithms of Russian and foreign authors. A good agreement between the results is shown. The developed algorithm is freely available with an open source code.
