Zusammenfassung:Over recent decades, we have all become accustomed to the alarmist vision of environmental problems. Environmental degradation seems to have reached its height, especially since the major developing countries, which have neither the experience nor the technological capacity of environmentally conscious use of resources, have entered the industrial phase. Of particular concern to the global environmental community is the rapid industrial growth in China, which requires huge amounts of energy. However, after three decades, the situation is beginning to change significantly, and now, as is claimed by the authors of this article, the Celestial Empire is rapidly approaching the leaders of environmentally responsible behavior in energy production and consumption.
