Designing a slag system for powder welding wire based on mineral raw materials of the Far East region

A methodology for designing and a technology for fabricating a slag system for the production of powder welding wire based on the ore materials of the Russia’s Far East region have been developed. Mineral raw materials suitable for the manufacture of a slag system have been chosen and substantiated. We have investigated the effect of the components of carbonate-fluorite type and of the regimes of metal surfacing on the physicomechanical and technological characteristics of the coatings. Based on the experimental data, a combined diagram has been constructed, which made it possible to choose an optimum composition of the slag system for the powder wire.
