Zusammenfassung: | The phenomenon of adiabatic following of light polarization in an anisotropic twisted medium is considered using the Jones matrix method. It is shown that the evolution of the light polarization state in a twisted anisotropic medium depends on the thickness of the specimen. At small thicknesses, this is a rather smooth transition through intermediate elliptically polarized states. At large thicknesses, this transition is of oscillating character. The number of oscillations depends on the ratio of the cell length and thickness of the elementary half-wavelength plate for the given medium. |
