Zusammenfassung:The kinetics of the early stages of the liquid-phase oxidation of oct-1-ene and cyclooctene with molecular oxygen in the presence of MoS 2 and tert -butyl hydroperoxide is reported. MoS 2 initiates oct-1-ene oxidation and inhibits cyclooctene oxidation. This is explained by the different reactivities of the hydroperoxide-containing complexes in the radical generation reaction. A kinetic scheme is suggested, and kinetic parameters of the process are calculated.
