Zusammenfassung:We report a new species of squat lobster from the Eocene Appian Way locality of Vancouver Island (British Columbia, Canada). The specimen is assigned to the fossil and extant Munidopsis Whiteaves, 1874, with M. canadensis n. sp. (Munidopsidae Ortmann, 1898). Munidopsis canadensis n. sp. represents the first report for the genus out of the Antarctica Peninsula and Europe, enlarging the palaeogeographic distribution for the genus.
