Albugo-Like Oogonia from the American Carboniferous
Fungal oogonia morphologically similar to those in the extant genus Albugo have been discovered in the integumental tissues of the fossil gymnosperm ovule Nuccllangium. Disease symptoms in the fossil ovule are similar to those produced by Albugo in living angiosperm hosts.
