Zusammenfassung: | It is pointed out that Nordmark's theoretical explanation of the effects on pitch of polarity reversal (of either one or the other pulse train of a double-pulse-train stimulus) is based on a very special set of assumptions. Furthermore, this theory predicts pitches that are not heard, when it is applied to certain “cophasic” pulses. An additional situation is noted where time cues in the nerve impulses are not reflected in the perceived pitch. |
