Zusammenfassung:The propagation of infrasound from a vertically extended source is investigated. The source is allowed to have azimuthal and vertical variation. The radial extent of the source is assumed to be small compared to an acoustic wavelength. No such assumption is made for the vertical extent. The problem is treated in cylindrical coordinates, as is appropriate for outdoor sound propagation, in a way analogous to the treatment of radiation from a compact source in unbounded three dimensional space. Several equivalent formulations will be presented along with example cases.
