Zusammenfassung:A new epitaxial superstructure of 3,4,9,10-perylenetetra-carboxylic-dianhydride adsorbed on Ag(111) is presented. The wirelike structure is analyzed with topographic images obtained by noncontact atomic force microscopy. The stacking of the molecules in the superstructure deviates strongly from the usual herringbone structure of the molecules. Additional force field spectroscopy experiments performed on the wire structure reveal that parts of the structure undergo mechanical relaxations in the presence of the tip. Furthermore, the dissipated energy between tip and molecules during the deformation process is derived.
