Zusammenfassung: | We asked people with an intellectual disability about the things that are good and bad in their lives.
We found that friends, family and romantic partners were really important. We found that doing activities, jobs and volunteering were important too.
Some things that people found hard were changes, personal care, getting around and remembering things. These things sometimes made people feel anxious.
We asked support staff the same questions and found that they sometimes talked about different things than people with an intellectual disability.
Our findings have already led to funding to help people with an intellectual disability meet new people and start relationships. |
