Zusammenfassung:Shooting methods are used to analyze rectangular waveguides containing inhomogeneous lossy dielectrics. The technique obtains the electromagnetic fields inside the waveguide by solving Maxwell's equations using trial and error procedures to match the boundary conditions at the conducting waveguide surface. Dispersion and attenuation curves are obtained which show how continuous dielectric inhomogeneities and losses affect the transmission characteristics of these waveguides.
