Zusammenfassung:The occurrence of instabilities in magnetic amplifiers with inductive d-c load is well known. Less known, however, is the mechanism causing the instability, of which a published analysis is believed nonexistent. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the mechanics of instability qualitatively and quantitatively and to explain some of the means by which this instability can be averted.
