An inverse method in electromagnetism applied to the optimization of inductors

An inverse method to optimize the efficiency of a linear inductor is proposed. An analytical solution of this method is found for an annular induction machine such as an electromagnetic pump for liquid metal. The solution is compared with a finite-element model.< >
