Education and the new technologies

We have all had some experience of education, but are considerably less certain of the new technologies. There is a limited awareness of the nature of microelectronics technology and the microcircuits on which it is based, and to a lesser extend of the developments in communications technology and information handling. These three form the first group of the new technologies. The next group will centre on biotechnology, involving the manipulation of genetic material; and others as yet unknown may follow.
