Zusammenfassung:Assessing risk and informed decision making Article Type: Editorial From: Advances in Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities, Volume 6, Issue 6 Welcome to this special edition, first I would like to thank the Editors, Board and publishers for inviting me to put a range of papers together that relate to risk both in daily life and in different clinical settings. In the first article; Hearn and colleagues describe a risk assessment designed to predict risk of absconding and to inform decision making about people having leave. The first paper gives a brief introduction of the evidence on offending in this group, whilst the second paper looks at the issue of risk assessment and management of this group in secure.
