Aqua­(di‐2‐pyridylamine‐κ2N2,N2′)(d‐gluconato‐κ2O,O′)copper(II) trihydrate

In the title complex, [Cu(C6H10O7)(C10H9N3)(H2O)]·3H2O, the Cu atom has a distorted square‐pyramidal geometry coordinated by two O atoms of a d‐gluconate ligand, two N atoms of a bidentate di‐2‐pyridylamine ligand and a water O atom. The deprotonated α‐hydroxyl and carbonate O atoms of the d‐gluconate ligand form a five‐membered chelate ring with the Cu atom. The crystal structure is stabilized both by all of the available hydrogen bonds and by π–π stacking inter­actions between di‐2‐pyridylamine ligands.
