Zusammenfassung:X-ray diffraction photographs were made on high-purity alpha -uranium powder. The resulting values of the y coordinate are 0.1021 at 22 deg C and 0.1071 at 597 plus or minus 4 deg C. The 22 deg C value ngrees satisfactorily with previous values, while the 600 deg C value is closer to Mueller's value than to other values. Possible errors in the measurements are discussed. (D.L.C.)
