Analyzing powers in inclusive Ag( p , He 3 ) and Ag( p , He 4 ) reactions at intermediate energies

Asymmetries associated with /sup 3/He and /sup 4/He single particle inclusive spectra from reactions of polarized protons with Ag targets have been measured for helium isotopes produced at 60/sup 0/, 90/sup 0/, and 135/sup 0/ with E/sub p/ = 518 MeV and at 60/sup 0/ with E/sub p/ = 237 and 445 MeV over a helium energy range from 7 to 63 MeV. The analyzing powers A/sub y/(E,E/sub He/,theta/sub He/) derived from these are near zero throughout the measured ranges. This is a constant on direct interaction models of fragment production.
