Zusammenfassung:Raman scattering from polaritons of mixed B/sub 2/-E symmetry has been observed in potassium dihydrogen phosphate at ambient temperatures. An extraordinary polariton branch has been measured at wave-number shifts from 940 cm/sup -1/ at 0.3/sup 0/ of arc internal scattering angle to 1080 cm/sup -1/ at 2.0/sup 0/ internal scattering angle. A formula is derived that relates scattering angle and propogation angle in anisotropic, uniaxial crystals. Experimentally measured frequencies are in good accord with theoretical calculations.
