Zusammenfassung: | This is a prospective clinical study of 41 consecutive patients with isolated tears of the medial meniscus who underwent meniscectomy by conventional arthrotomy. The results are presented in terms of length of hospitalization, complications, analgesic requirements during hospitalization, and ability to regain muscle control of the operated extremities. I believe that this study provides a basis for expected results of arthrotomy and meniscectomy. It can also be used for comparison by surgeons who perform arthroscopic meniscectomy as they evaluate their short-term results and complications. |
